If you use the internet for work, fun, shopping or email you could be a Cybercrime target. In many cases, you may not be aware that the crime is taking place until it is too late. Cybercrime targets victims from large and small businesses to private individuals and can result in damage to reputation, financial loss or ransomed data.

Many of the criminals carrying out attacks have limited technical abilities, others are more sophisticated. The availability of sophisticated tools that can be accessed online through criminal online marketplaces is helping cybercrime to evolve and grow at an alarming rate. Last year there were over one million cases of cybercrime report to Action Fraud in the UK.

Ransomware attacks are increasing, data is taken and quite literally held to ransom, the criminals may block you from accessing the data they are holding or in some cases will threaten to publish your data online.

You may already have heard about Phishing, ransomware, malware and cybercrime, during this course we will cover these subjects and suggest ways to help you to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of the cybercriminal.
